A recent survey has found that US air travelers with personal electronic devices are likely to spend half the flight-time using their WiFi enabled tablet/smartphone/laptop on flights of over one hour duration in an aircraft with WiFi Internet access. The IMS Research survey found that about 8 percent of the surveyed 1,000 travelers spent more than 80 percent of the flight duration using an electronic device while about 30 percent did not use any electronic device during the flight.
The survey also found that MP3 players were the most used electronic devices during flights with nearly one-third of the surveyed travelers using one. Laptops and tablets were the next most used gadgets.
