Japan Airlines will become the first international carrier to operate Boeing 787 Dreamliner flights to Sydney with the launch of daily Tokyo Narita to Sydney Dreamliner flights from December 1.
The 787s will replace the Boeing 777s currently used on the route (flights JL771 and JL772).
Qatar Airways had previously planned to be the first airline to operate 787 flights to Australia with the launch of Doha to Perth Dreamliner flights last February, before the grounding of all Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft.
Qantas subsidiary Jetstar is also scheduled to take delivery of 787 aircraft in August. No flight launch dates have been announced yet.
