JetBlue announced on its blog that it will begin daily non-stop flights from both New York and Fort Lauderdale to the Haitian capital Port-au-Prince from December 5, 2013.
The airline will operate one daily flight from New York’s JFK and two daily flights from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport to Toussaint Louverture International Airport (PAP) in the Haiti.
The flights from New York will use a 150-seat Airbus A320 aircraft while the flights from Fort Lauderdale will use a 100-seat Embraer 190 aircraft.
Port-au-Prince will be the 82nd destination served by JetBlue.
Nearly one-third of JetBlue’s route network includes destinations in Latin America and the Caribbean. JetBlue flies the most passengers to Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic and is also launching new flights to Colombia (Medellin) and Peru (Lima).
