JetBlue has launched an Eat Up Café onboard menu, which includes fresh food, including sandwiches, salads and platters, on its select transcontinental flights on a two-month trial basis from July 16, 2013.
Fresh food is currently being offered on New York’s JFK – San Francisco; JFK – Los Angeles (LAX); and JFK – Long Beach, CA flights.
Breakfast options include a turkey croissant sandwich, blueberry muffin and fresh fruit cup. Lunch and Dinner fresh-food options include Quinoa Salad with ingredients including honey roasted carrots and wheat berries, and a Roast Beef Sandwich.
“All Day” fresh-food options include a sweet banana yogurt parfait and antipasto platter with prosciutto, Camembert cheese and hummus.
JetBlue plans to extend its fresh food offerings to all transcontinental flights and possibly to other long-haul flights pending the success of the trial.
