JetBlue plans to offer mini-suites in the business class of its US transcontinental Airbus A321 flights. This will be a radical step for the airline as it has been mostly operating as a single-class low-cost carrier until now, according to AviationWeek.
The mini-suites will be installed only on 13 Airbus A321 aircraft that will fly on the transcontinental routes. The aircraft are scheduled to be delivered beginning from the fourth quarter of 2013 and through 2014.
Each aircraft is expected to have 16 business-class seats with 4 “mini-suites” offering greater privacy through sliding doors, and 143 economy seats.
The mini-suite outfitted JetBlue A321s are expected to begin flying from early 2014.
