Terminal 4 of New York’s JFK Airport has the longest customs wait times – 36 minutes on an average – than any other major airport in the US, according to recently released data for May 2013.
JFK T4 also had the highest average daily peak waiting time of 93 minutes, according to the ranking of 13 major US airports’ customs wait times by lobbying group, Global Gateway Alliance. Terminal 4 is home to many international airlines, including COPA, Air India, KLM, Emirates, Asiana, Etihad, Singapore, El Al, South African and Delta.
Orlando Airside 4 had the second highest average customs waiting time of 35.6 minutes while Miami South Concourse (32.9 minutes) and Miami North Concourse (30.2 minutes) were at third and fourth position.
Seattle (8 minutes) and Atlanta (about 13 minutes) airports had the shortest average customs wait times.
