Dutch airline KLM has launched KLM Wannagives, an in-flight gifting service that enables people to surprise their friends and family with gifts during their flight on the airline.
Gifts, which can be chosen through an online shop, range from a glass of Champagne or a box of chocolates to perfumes, waffles and even an upgrade to economy comfort class featuring extra legroom.
The gifts are delivered gift-wrapped to the recipient by a cabin crew member during the flight.
The gifts can also be purchased with frequent flier miles. People purchasing gifts with money will also receive double value frequent flier miles (based on the gift cost in Euros). For example, the purchaser of a €44 (Euro) gift of perfume will earn 88 frequent flier miles.
The KLM in-flight gift service is available on transcontinental and long-distance European flights.
The gifts through the Wannagives service are not limited to in-flight delivery and can also be delivered to the homes of the recipients.
The gifts can be accompanied with a personalized note.
KLM is a Skyteam member and a partner of Air France (as KLM-Air France) with its home hub at Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport in the Netherlands.
The airline offers direct flights between Amsterdam and many US destinations including New York, Atlanta, Chicago, Los Angeles, Houston, San Francisco and Washington, DC.
