London City Airport plans to upgrade its infrastructure to handle up to 120,000 flight movements per year – twice its existing capacity – in the next 10 years.
The expansion will enable the airport to handle up to six million passengers over the next ten years.
The London City Airport currently handles 70,000 flight movements per year with annual traffic of three million passengers.
The expansion plans will allow the airport to handle larger, quieter and more modern aircraft with the addition of new airplane parking stands, a parallel taxiway to increase runway capacity during peak hours and a terminal extension to handle greater passenger traffic.
The London City Airport is located in the Royal Docks and predominantly serves the business and political centers of Canary Wharf, The City and Westminster.
