Stansted Airport, the third largest airport serving the London region after Heathrow and Gatwick, introduced free WiFi Internet access in early 2013.
The WiFi service (network name:_stanstedairport) will be free for the first 60 minutes and can be accessed after a short registration process. Once registered, laptops, tablets and other WiFi-enabled devices will be automatically recognized by the system on subsequent login attempts.
Stansted Airport was acquired in January by the Manchester Airports Group for £1.5 billion (about $2.3 billion). The new owners have been working on plans to improve the existing facilities to attract more airlines.
