Poland is planning to sell a majority stake in the Polish flag carrier LOT Polish Airlines. The government has introduced legislation in the parliament to authorize the sale, which will enable the privatization of the loss making airline.
The Polish government currently owns a 93 percent stake in the airline and expects to find a EU based buyer for the stake. LOT, a Star Alliance member, has been repeatedly bailed out by the government in recent years.
