Perfect for those looking for an unusual holiday gift – or anyone with an abundance of Qantas frequent flier miles. The airline is offering its frequent fliers a chance to operate its flight simulators – the very same devices it uses for training its pilots. Qantas has 10 flight simulators in its Sydney facility with some costing over $30 million each.
Over 115,000 frequent flier points are needed for a one-hour instructor-assisted simulator session. The airline is offering 48 such sessions from December 2012 to March 2013.
Virgin Australia also offers flight simulator sessions on its Boeing 737 simulators for 38,000 frequent flier points.
