Qantas has been trialing in-flight Internet access on the Los Angeles and London routes for about 8 months and found that only about five percent of the travelers used the paid WiFi service. The airline said after the trials that the current demand does not justify the costs to install the service.
In-flight phone calls and texting facilities on Qantas’ Airbus A380 aircraft and some 747s/A330s will not be affected by this decision and will continue to be available.
