Qantas Airlines’ announced it will test a retrofit of the overhead bin storage on one of its Boeing 737-800 aircraft. By installing a pivot bin system developed by Heath Tecna, Qantas hopes to be able to accommodate 30-40% more luggage in the overhead compartments and increase head space in the seats. If the test is successful, Qantas will retrofit its 737 and 757 aircraft to this system. Qantas is the first airline in the world to trial this new upgrade.
