QantasLink, a regional subsidiary of Australian airline Qantas, will introduce Business Class and in-flight entertainment for all passengers on 5 of its Boeing 717 aircraft according to a May 2013 press release.
Business class on QantasLink Boeing 717s will offer “market-leading seats, premium food and drinks and exceptional on-board service,” according to the airline’s Executive Manager, John Gissing.
The upgraded aircraft will be introduced in late 2013 on the Sydney-Canberra, Brisbane-Canberra and Melbourne-Canberra routes.
Earlier in May 2013, Virgin Australia launched its regional subsidiary, Virgin Australia Regional, heating up competition in the Australian domestic travel market.
That QantasLink plans to offer a better in-flight experience on its popular business routes to the country’s capital, Canberra, reinforces the high competition on certain Australian domestic routes.
QantasLink flies to nearly 58 destinations across Australia.
