Qatar Airways has announced a new range of in-flight dish selections – the Qatar Airways Culinary World Menu – created by leading chefs specializing in different cuisines from around the world. The chefs include Chef Ramzi Choueiri, renown for Middle Eastern cuisine; Chef Vineet Bhatia, creator of exotic Indian cuisine; Chef Tom Aikens, expert with European foods and Chef Nobu Matsuhisa, a culinary icon for his award-winning Asian fusion creations.
Qatar introduced its chef line-up on September 17, 2012 at a function in Doha, where attendees were able to enjoy live cooking demonstrations. Spokesmen for the airline confirmed that the new menu has been carefully selected to suit long-haul flights as well as to account for ‘how the taste buds are altered’ at high altitude according to their official press release.
As it expands its service and builds new alliances, Qatar is intent on improving the flight experience for all its passengers. It’s continuing emphasis is on providing 5-star service – and this will now also be reflected through its in-flight meals.
Qatar will begin non-stop service from Chicago to Doha International Airport in April, 2013. Currently Qatar flies non-stop from Houston, Washington DC, New York City (JFK Airport) and Montreal to Doha, with connections available to Perth and Melbourne, Australia, in addition to multiple destinations in Africa, Asia and the Middle East.
