Work is continuing on the $229 million renovation of Delta’s Terminal 5 at Los Angeles International Airport. The project will move ahead in a number of phases and is expected to be completed in 2015.
The renovation includes doubling the size of the ticketing lobby; more federal security screening checkpoints; a separate lobby and checkpoint for Delta SkyPriority program members; a private VIP check-in lobby; renovation of the Delta Sky Club with the addition of a full-service bar; updated interiors with a new color scheme; new baggage carousels; upgraded international baggage recheck facilities – and added stations for charging personal mobile devices.
The terminal will also get 15 new restaurants and shops highlighting the “cuisine, culture and lifestyle” of the Los Angeles area.
LAX is the sixth busiest airport in the world and third busiest airport in the US with 680 daily domestic flights and 930 weekly international nonstop flights.
