Air New Zealand’s Premium Economy class on its Boeing 777-300ERs resembles business class more than economy class. In fact, you will have such a great experience flying in Premium Economy – the “economy” tag really does not do it justice.
This aircraft is used on flights between Auckland, NZ and west coast international airports in Los Angeles and San Francisco.
The seats are comfortable with plenty of privacy and are arranged in a 2-4-2 layout. Seating provides at least 9 more inches of space between the seat in front compared to economy class seating. The Premium Economy cabin is located behind the Business class cabin and is separate from the economy coach class seating areas.
Meals are offered on a separate – and upgraded – menu and served with a choice of fine New Zealand wines.
The in-flight entertainment system has an 11″ screen with in-seat power and USB connections. An interesting feature on the display screen is the “My Flight” menu that informs passengers about their progress in the flight and other information such as when the lights will be dimmed and when food can be ordered.
