Southwest Airlines, the biggest US domestic carrier, has been ranked first alongside German airline airberlin and Virgin Australia in an annual reward seat availability survey of world airlines.
The three airlines shared the top position with a reward seat availability score of 100 percent.
Southwest was in the top position for the fourth consecutive year in the annual Switchfly’s Reward Seat Availability Survey of 25 airlines around the world.
In 2011, Southwest launched the All-New Rapid Rewards Program aimed at ensuring “No Blackout Dates” and “Unlimited Reward Seats” for its frequent flyers.
The 2013 Switchfly Reward Seat Availability Survey is based on 7,560 booking inquiries during March 2013 by IdeaWorksCompany at websites of 25 airlines’ frequent flyer programs.
