Low-cost US carrier Spirit Airlines will sell canned wine on its flights beginning this week. The airline has partnered with Friends Beverage Group, makers of Friends Wine In A Can, to offer the wine.
Passengers will be able to purchase canned wines from the company’s “Fun Wine Collection” that includes wines with 6 percent alcohol content, according to the airline. The wine cans will cost $7 for one can and $12 for two cans.
The wine flavors in “Friends Fun Wine” collection are Rosé Moscato, White Moscato, Peach Moscato, Strawberry Moscato, Friends White, Original Red Sangria and Original White Sangria.
Spirit also currently sells Sutter Home’s mini-bottles of wine on its flights.
