SriLankan airlines has launched a program that promotes responsible whale and dolphin watching off the coast of Sri Lanka and promotes marine-wildlife friendly practices by local fisherman. The program, named Project BLUEprint, has been launched in partnership with UK-based Whale and Dolphin Conservation.
The airline will also show whale conservation related in-flight videos and collect money for whale & wildlife conservation charities by selling plush whales on its flights. Nearly 25 cetacean species (whales, dolphins, porpoises, etc.) including sperm whales and blue whales are found off the coast of Sri Lanka.
