The frequent flier programs of Alaska Airlines and Southwest were ranked the highest in a recent survey that ranked airlines’ frequent flier programs on the basis of award redemption satisfaction.
The survey by business travel site, Frequent Business Traveler and online travel community, FlyerTalk, rated Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan to be the best for the second consecutive year.
It was followed by Southwest Rapid Rewards at second position. American Airlines AAdvantage, JetBlue TrueBlue, and United Airlines MileagePlus were the other programs in top five.
Southwest’s Rapid Rewards was also ranked the highest in the annual Switchfly’s Reward Seat Availability Survey of 25 major world airlines.
Delta SkyMiles and Air Canada Aeroplan were the worst performers with 67% and 68% of their respective program members expressing dissatisfaction with their ability to redeem awards.
US Airways Dividend Miles (45% dissatisfaction rate), Air France-KLM Flying Blue (40%) and British Airways Executive Club were the other three programs in bottom five.
