Virgin America has emerged as the top North American airline in a 2013 customer satisfaction survey by Consumer Reports magazine. The Consumer Reports’ Airline’s Rating Survey saw the airline getting high scores in most categories including ease of check-in, cabin-crew service, cleanliness, seating comfort, baggage handling and in-flight entertainment.
The airline received the top score in baggage handling even though it charges $25 for checked bags.
Southwest Airlines, JetBlue Airways and Hawaiian Airlines also received high satisfaction scores in the survey. Spirit Airlines received the lowest score.
The survey was based on the replies of 16,663 readers of the magazine with a combined total of 31,732 domestic flights.
