The US Transportation Security Administration (TSA) expanded the facilities related to its expedited security screening program, PreCheck, at the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport in October 2013.
The expansion includes the opening of additional PreCheck lanes at Sea-Tac Airport before the Thanksgiving holiday rush.
The TSA is also planning to open a Sea-Tac Airport enrollment center where it will sign up travelers for vetting for a five-year PreCheck membership for a fee of $85.
For those travelers who haven’t enrolled in PreCheck, the TSA will also randomly select some passengers at the airport’s security checkpoints for no-hassle security screening.
TSA PreCheck currently covers 40 airports across the US and is projected to be expanded to 60 more airports by the end of 2013.
