Turkish Airlines, the Turkish flag carrier, will launch flights on the Istanbul-Boston route from May 12, 2014. The flights will initially operate 5 times a week with the frequency increasing to daily from June 9, 2014.
Boston will be the sixth US destination of the airline. Turkish Airlines operates flights between its Istanbul hub and the US cities of Chicago, New York, Houston, Los Angeles and Miami at present.
The Boston-Istanbul flights will use a 289-seat Airbus A330-300 aircraft, which will include 28 Business Class flat-bed seats.
Turkish Airlines expanded to Houston in April 2013 and plans to also add Miami, Detroit, Orlando and Atlanta to its network in the future.
