United launched its 200th aircraft featuring live in-flight broadcasting of over 100 TV channels to passengers in May 2013.
United now has live television on most of its Boeing 737 aircraft and on many of its Boeing 757-300 planes. Passengers can also choose from 8 newly released movies every month in addition to the TV channels.
Television service is complimentary for first class passengers and available for purchase in economy class at $5.99 for flights with a duration of two hours or less and at $7.99 for flights longer than two hours.
Aircraft with live TV also have power outlets at each seat in first class and premium economy (United Economy Plus).
United has more aircraft with live TV than any other airline in the world.
