United Airlines has raised the change fee on domestic US air tickets to $200 from the previous $150. The change fee is charged when the customer changes his destination or time of travel or cancels the ticket after the initial booking.
The change fee for international air tickets has been increased to $300 from earlier $250.
The raised change fee is applicable on tickets issued on or after April 18, 2013. It remains to be seen if other major airlines will follow United’s lead and raise their change fees as well.
