United launched its first aircraft with full flat bed business class for its US transcontinental “p.s.” (Premium Service) flights in March 2013.
The airline is currently upgrading the Boeing 757 aircraft used for this service. Other additions include new interiors, on-demand entertainment with 15-inch displays in business class and 9-inch displays in economy, WiFi Internet connectivity and power/USB outlets at each seat.
The first upgraded flight, flight 651, departed from LAX to New York’s JFK on March 18, 2013.
United’s p.s. service on nonstop flights between New York JFK and Los Angeles/San Francisco offers upgraded features in all classes including extra legroom and seat-pitch and an upgraded meal service.
