Vietnam’s latest international airport, Phu Quoc International Airport, is scheduled for opening in December 2012. The airport is located in the southern province of Kien Giang, about 300 km (190 miles) from Vietnam’s capital, Ho Chi Minh City. The airport will serve the southern part of the country and the Mekong Delta region, which are very popular with international tourists because of multiple beaches, watersports facilities and the rich cultural attractions in the region.
