Virgin Atlantic plans to increase the capacity of its flights between Orlando, Florida and the UK city of Manchester in summer 2014.
The airline has announced that it will boost the capacity on the Orlando-Manchester route by as much as 30,000 seats for the next summer season due to high demand.
The airline will deploy Boeing 747 aircraft for all of the 11 flights per week on the route during next summer. The 455-seat jumbo jets will replace the 314 seat Airbus A330s currently used on the route.
The 747s will also feature Virgin Atlantic’s Upper Class in addition to the Premium Economy and Economy offered on the Airbus A330s. The Boeing aircraft will offer touchscreen in-flight entertainment systems, new seats and mood lighting in all cabins.
