Virgin Australia will operate Airbus A330 aircraft on all its weekday flights on the Sydney-Perth route from October.
The airline also plans to operate the A330s on all its Perth-Melbourne weekday flights and two out of three Perth-Brisbane weekday flights.
Virgin Australia A330s feature luxurious leather seating, a generous seat recline and a variety of gourmet food offerings.
Virgin Australia is also introducing thrice weekly flights between Perth and the Western Australia town of Karratha from July 1.
The new flights will use Embraer 190 aircraft and depart Perth on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
Virgin Australia said that it introduced flights to Karratha in view of the air travel demand from the mining and resources industry.
