Virgin Australia is introducing larger planes for many of its flights from Brisbane beginning in February 2013. The airline is replacing all contracted Alliance Airlines Fokker 100 aircraft connecting Brisbane to the cities of Newcastle, Cairns, Rockhampton and Proserpine with Boeing 737 and Embraer 190 planes. The new aircraft flying to Cairns and Newcastle will also have business class seating as compared to the all-economy seating of the existing aircraft.
