Airlines’ cost-saving measures have affected flight attendants. They currently are being perceived as less friendly than the stewardesses from years ago. But way back in the early days, before continuously increasing fees for checked luggage, soft drinks and more, flight attendants had more wiggle room to make fliers happy.
Now, regulations are stricter, making it more difficult for these workers to follow the airlines’ rules while still accommodating customers. The stress of the job has also become more pronounced, making it more difficult for flight attendants to be upbeat and immensely patient all the time.
